Display for Somerset Arts week some years ago when I’d actually tidied the workshop!
I thought I’d start a blog for lots of reasons the main honest reason being that I want to sell more of my work online via my online Shop. The theory being that the more you write and publish the more your website will be found by people who will purchase your work. Not that I’m complaining about my web sites they have both produced sales and commissions since I started them via contacts that have given me large amounts of work.
So there are other are other reasons for starting a blog which include:
- Having somewhere to write news of what I have been making and the problems involved in being a self-employed woodworker. Therapy for me.
- To continue to battle away with learning about WordPress, websites, social media, SEO etc. Not therapy for me but something to make me return to my workshops (Sheds).
All the time remembering that if I don’t make anything, I don’t make any money. So this will be the limiting factor of how much “Blogging” or messing about on computers I do. I could term this “Death by computer” as I sit here typing away I’m not making anything out of my wood so if I continue I will run out of money and starve to death.
So the categories for the Blog will be General, Workshop (Shed), Wood, Tech (for all things computer related) and may be some others when I think of them. Off I go back to the workshop to do some sanding. I think my next post will be on what I’m up to in the workshop at the moment.
